Girlfriends Unlimited - Women's Ministries

Our focus is to create opportunities for women to come to know Jesus Christ, to be nurtured in their Christian life, and to provide a place for women to connect and cultivate Christian friendships.

THERE ARE FRIENDS -AND THERE ARE GIRLFRIENDS!

Women today are looking for fresh and fun ways to connect with other women and Jesus. Something relevant and relational that meets them where they are.

Girlfriends Unlimited at Summer Grove is that new approach to women's ministry. It looks different, sounds different and feels different. We seek ways to reach and connect women in the church and community that are filled with fun and energy. We center on bringing women together in casual, fun settings so that they can meet new friends.

New to our women’s ministry is Girlfriends Nights Out. Throughout the year these events may include crafts, service projects, games and always lots of fun. It is a gathering place for women to get together for a night away from home and have fun with a purpose! Child care is available.

Once a year our “over-the-top” themed event will provide a time of fun, laughter and connecting as we let our hair down, pamper ourselves or try something new. Women get to know Jesus as we worship, study, experience and explore our faith together through various women's studies throughout the year.To offer women the chance to develop friendships in smaller settings we have shared-interest groups. These groups will connect you with other women with the same passion and provide opportunities to serve the community. Fun with a purpose!

Chick Flicks....for women who marvel over movies! Meet in someone's home to share a meal, watch a movie and have discussion about the movie.

Gals-a-Goin'....for women who like going places! These gals enjoy going to plays, concerts, festivals, movies, out to eat, shopping, day trips, just as long as they're goin' places!

Gamin' Gals....for women who enjoy gabbing while playing board and card games! This group of gals may meet at the church or other designated locations for a variety of group games, snacks and fun.

Lit 'n' Lattes....for women who seek invigorating conversation over captivating books! Fellowship among book lovers. Choose and read a new book, get together to discuss the book. May meet in homes, coffee house, book store.

Sweatin’ It Out...for women who love to exercise! Perhaps they don't love to exercise, but they want to get together with Girlfriends to enjoy friendships and accountability while getting in shape! They meet on Tuesday's at 6:45 in the gym area.

Guardian Angels...for women whose hearts seek to serve the needs of others! This care ministry group does a variety of things to reach out to our homebound members, women in transition or those just in need of a listening ear or a kind word.

Mary Martha Circle is part of the United Methodist Women with a purpose to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of missions through participation in the global ministries of the church.

They meet the third Tuesday of each month at 9:30 AM in the Library at the church. All women are welcome and invited to join them.

Sisters In Service (S.I.S.) (formerly Sarah Circle) is for women who like hands on mission and outreach. These sisters provide fellowship to one another as they seek to be the hands and feet of Christ to their church and community through various projects throughout the year. They meet the third Tuesday of January, March, May, August, October and December, 6:30 PM in the Ragan Middleton room.

If you like a week-end getaway with your girlfriends, Sisters In Service also sponsors an annual retreat filled with fun, fellowship and spiritual growth.

Esther Women's Group (previously Esther Circle) will engage in fun-loving fellowship while focusing on a serious ministry of mission--both local and global. We meet the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 PM, usually in homes of members. Women of all ages are warmly welcome to join us
